TOUR LOCATION

The tourist resort of Ponte di Legno is located at the northern end of the Camonica Valley (of which it is the last and, in terms of territorial extension, the largest municipality) and south of the Ortles Cevedale group (Corno dei Tre Signori and Monte Confinale). Completely immersed in a wide basin, it lies between Lombardy and Trentino-Alto Adige and is connected to the province of Sondrio via the Gavia Pass.

History of the city

Ponte di Legno is a small town located in Lombardy, Italy, that has a long history dating back to Roman times. During the Middle Ages, the town became an important trade centre due to its strategic location along the Via Mala, one of the main trade routes across the Alps. In the 15th century, Ponte di Legno became part of the Duchy of Milan, and later came under the control of the Republic of Venice. During World War II, the town was the scene of violent clashes between partisans and Nazi troops. Today, Ponte di Legno is a popular tourist destination, known for its natural beauty and rich history.
