Porto Cervo
In the northeastern corner of Sardinia lies the kingdom of luxury vacations: an exclusive seaside village, an architectural gem nestled among natural beauty.
Undisputed capital of the Costa Smeralda, Porto Cervo is a coastal village in the Gallura region of Arzachena, with only a few hundred residents. In the summer it becomes an extraordinary and glittering parade of yachts, luxury boats, and famous people: in the central square, it’s easy to find oneself shopping alongside cinema and television stars. Every day is a continuous succession of appointments with the international jet set: parties, social events, sports events, especially golf.

The seaside village arose around a natural inlet that resembles a deer. The old harbor dates back to the 1960s, when with a brilliant intuition, Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, fascinated by the beauty of the coastline, decided to buy the lands of this corner of Gallura and, together with the French set designer Jacques Couelle – later joined by some Italian architects – to create the paradise of international elite tourism. In the 1980s, work began on the construction of the new marina, now one of the largest and most equipped in the Mediterranean (700 berths), and for several years in a row, it has been awarded the Blue Flag for tourist ports, an award conferred by the Fee (Foundation for Environmental Education) for water quality, services offered, and sustainability. The marina is home to the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, a prestigious club that organizes international sailing regattas. Walking along the docks, you will admire the moored boats of wealthy people.
